Camps Coordinator

Constitutional Duties

The Camps Coordinator shall select and reserve, with the approval of the Board, campsites and oversee the Camp Director in the selection of the campers and coordination with the selected schools for various camps throughout the year; shall see that Camp Directors submit a report and an evaluation of the events as a record of activities and resources; shall make all transportation arrangements; shall take inventory of all existing Camp Wildcat possessions, or see that inventory is taken within one week after each camp activity, and see that all missing articles are accounted for in writing.

MADERA CANYON

Bog Springs Campsite

Capacity:
40-50 (Adventure Camps, CCIs)

Facilities:
Non-reservable; someone has to go up early; sites on top of hill near bathroom; trailhead located down road; usually hold two sites on ridge and one near the bathroom; have had problems with ranges and site hosts in past; best to talk to individuals camping around and inform them of CW; running water available; bring firewood

Capacity:
50-60 people (CCI)

Facilities:
Plenty of shade/trees; running water and bathrooms; close to Peppsauce Caves (should be heeded with caution-- maps, flashlights and water necessary); reservable campsites

Location:
Calabasas Group Site

Capacity:
80-100 people (Big Camp)

Facilities:
Group site for tent camping; best for winter camping site; big field area, lots of picnic tables and grills but no big rama or covered area; portra poties but no running water (use nearby Wendy´s); gate locked (need confirmation from ranger station and code); isolated so no worry about noise level

Individual sites 1-5 available to reserve online; all rest are first-come, first-serve; amphitheater for skits; hood walk around lake; lots of locations for rotations; bundled sites have tables, etc.; water available

Facilities:
3 group sites available to reserve online at ReserveUSA; 25 people max at each site; isolated so no worry about noise level; great night hike available; ramada for cooking area; bathrooms; greet site host upon entering facility; water available
